Recount Text
                Teks recount adalah teks yang bertujuan menerangkan peristiwa, kejadian, atau pengalaman seseorangyang terjadi pada waktu lampau untuk memberitakan atau menghibur. Teks recount terdiri atas personal recount (berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi). Biographical recount (tentang biografi atau riwayat hidup seorang tokoh), dan historical recount (tentang sejarah).

Ciri-ciri teks recount:
·         Menggunakan noun dan pronoun sebagai kata ganti orang, hewan, atau benda yang terlibat, misalnya the company atau the children.
·         Menggunakan action verb (kata kerja tindakan), misalnya treated atau donated.
·         Menggunakan past tense, misalnya They were given training on information technology.
·         Menggunakan conjunction dan time connector yang mengurutkan peristiwa, kejadian, atau kegiatan, misalnya when, then dan at the end of the day.
·         Menggunakan adverb dan adverb phrase intuk mengungkapkan tempat, waktu, dan acara, misal in 1999, for the first time, that day.
·         Menggunakan adjective untuk menerangkan noun, misalnya terribly very huge crowd atau odour smells.
Struktur teks recount:
·         Orientation (pengenalan): memberi informasi tentang pelaku, tempat, dan waktu.
·         Events: rekaman peristiwa, kejadian, atau kegiatan yang terjadi, yang biasanya disampaikan dalam urutan kronologis.
·         Re-orientation: pengantar akhir yang mengatur rentetan peristiwa, kejadian, atau kegiatan.
Contoh teks recount:
                On the Children’s Day in 2010, a technology company treated more than 200 underprivileged children to a ‘high-tech’ experience. They were given training on information technology.
                The company wanted to provide opportunities for these children to learn more about the internet and the latest technology. They wanted to help the less fortunate in the community.
That day the children had an enjoyable and educational experience. They were exposed to the new technologyfor the first time, and they were very interested. The company hoped to conduct many more such training session for these children. They felt that the skills the childrenhad would be useful to them when they grew up.
At the end of the day, the company donated money to somecharitable organizations. Then it also granted scholarships for many smart students.
